Edenton is home to three National Historic Landmarks, one of which is the state’s oldest courthouse, built in 1767 and still in use. The historic Taylor Theater is northeastern North Carolina's premiere cinema. Located in downtown Edenton, the Taylor is a favorite entertainment spot for people of all ages.

The Edenton Steamers are a collegiate summer baseball team located in Edenton, North Carolina, and one of 15 teams that compete from May-August in the Coastal Plain League.

For over two and a half centuries, the Cupola House has stood watch from the north shore of Edenton Bay. It was built in 1758 by Francis Corbin, land agent for John Carteret, Earl of Granville. Carteret was one of the last of the famous Lords Proprietors who, in the 17th century, acquired vast territories south of Virginia from King Charles II.

Two open bass tournaments per year on the first Saturday in June and November as well as many other tournaments throughout the year from first light until noon. Boat launch: $5.00, Kayak launch: $2.
