About The Cotton House Condos

Edenton Cotton House Condos - South View

A 1906 support building used to store cotton for the Edenton Cotton Mill has found a new life as a condominium with five units.

When Edenton native, Betsy Harrell Johnstone, and her husband, Hall, purchased the building in 2013, it was just a shell of its former self.  But the Johnstones saw the possibility for it to become much more.

For Hall, a licensed North Carolina contractor, it represented the first project since he and Betsy relocated to Edenton from Maryland in 2011.  Hall had worked with some of the leading architects in the Washington, DC area, earning a number of awards as a master builder, including the Montgomery County Award for Historic Preservation and the Washingtonian Magazine Award for Distinctive Residential Construction.

The architectural design for The Cotton House Condominiums was created by Clearscapes in Raleigh.  The condos were constructed in two separate phases.  The first three, 902, 904 and 905, are complete. Phase two, consisting of 901 and 903, are 50% complete and ready for finish selections.

Each unit features drive-up parking, single level living, and a private yard space.
